The brief history of Oaxaca 4x4

Born in a parking lot, from the enthusiasm of it's founders: Francisco Mijangos Topete, Chris Craig and Antonio Underwood, the group was formed in Sept. 2003

The first excursion was during a visit by Boscos Camp 4x4, which passed 15 obstacles in 3 hours in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, in and around Nochixlán. This event brought back memories of the Action Team event, 'Ruta de las Fincas', which left the city of Oaxaca and headed towards the coast. (These two events having been the only two of there type in the state of Oaxaca.)

From the onset, the idea to form a group in Oaxaca, which is central to a wide variety of places, would be to have expeditions with the security, organization and the participation of families.

Since then, Oaxaca4x4 has had many small (one day, 1/2 day) excursions. The wide variety of terrain has offered an opportunity to learn the 'Art' of four wheeling and to discover the capabilities of the 4x4 vehicles.

We know that there are many 4x4 vehicles in the city of Oaxaca, and that they were purchased for the 4x4 capabilities. Oaxaca4x4, therefore, has a 'open invitation' to all.
